Mushailov's paintings
I have noticed that you have added a few reproductions of painter Mushailov, licensing them as your own works. You are obviously not Mushailov, as he died in 2007. Are you his heir or acquire the copyright on his paintings by other ways? Please explain. If you do not own copyright for the original works but only scan a reproduction of photographed a painting, then you cannot license those images. Alex Bakharev (talk) 05:18, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- I knew him personally. With a permission of artist Mushailov I had an opportunity to take pictures of his works.
Boxes12 (talk) 00:58, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry for being bureaucratic but you have to contact somebody who has legal rights for copyright of Mishailov's paintings and ask them to E-mail permissions-commons@wikimedia.org formally confirming that they have the rights and want to license the image under a creative commons license. Even if the author explicitly ask you to freely distribute reproductions of his work his heirs might have other opinions. Meanwhile I put {{OTRS pending}} on the files Alex Bakharev (talk) 02:14, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- I have been told by brother of artist Mushailov that he got an automatically generated response from OTRS, Ticket#: 2015060410023456. Boxes12 (talk) 00:19, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

- I was shocked with your intrusion in the private life of people. Who gave you the rights to post on the public portal names of people without their permissions? Are you working as an interrogator? Your obsession to put everyone and everything under suspicion doesn’t stop making Asaf the brother of Mushail Mushailov. Also read Asaf’s interview: [1] Because of your assumptions and due to your administrator rights you cannot post misinformation about people’s life. Deleting these images is not been conscientious. Please delete your post. Boxes12 (talk) 19:23, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Source of derivative work is not properly indicated: File:Book “Our Roots” by Yagutil Mishiev.jpg
![]() |
This file may be deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Book “Our Roots” by Yagutil Mishiev.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

Re: Image permission
Thanks for your message. Unfortunately, even if we could confirm that Dzhamilya Dagirova is the creator of the photo File:Book_Ghazi_Muhammad_by_Shapi_Kaziev_-_Copy.jpg (a photograph of a portrait displayed in a museum in Dagestan), this photo would still not be acceptable by Wikimedia Commons.
According to the description page of this photo, it depicts a portrait, which is displayed in "A. Taho-Godi National Museum", located in Dagestan, the Russian Federation. When discussing derivative works of a copyrighted (for Russia, the work will enter Public Domain 70 years after the death of the creator) work of art, like this photo, if the depicted artwork is permanently displayed in a place where it can be viewed by the public, we need to determine whether such a photo of the artwork is free of copyright according to the "Freedom of Panorama". According to this page, in Russia, there is no freedom of panorama for works of art other than buildings or garden design, which means that such a photo should not be uploaded here.

Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |
