Music?

[edit]

What is the music on this video you posted: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Diesel_Freight_Train_NSW.ogg

Artist? Title? Links?

  • Track is by Stephen Gard, i.e. me, the person who made the video.
  • Its title is TGV
  • It is from my CD EuroMusic 1 released 2009, on the Bluedawe Label.
  • It can be heard in full and downloaded from my artist page at LAST-FM
  • Thank you for asking.

  • Oh... I thought you were interested in the music I write. Tsk tsk. Silly me. Just another anonymous (i.e. gutless) Wikicop twirling his/her/its nightstick. Sigh. Bluedawe (talk) 08:03, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Geocoordinates

[edit]

Gday,

I noticed the photos you are uploading of NSW towns are all categorised properly, but none of them have geocoordinates. It is extremely important that you include this data, because it allows people to locate individual photos on a map. Wiki articles will soon include maps in which you can view photos of landmarks in towns and cities.

To add geocoordinates you simply:
1. Click on this link
2. Open another tab/window of your browser, and go to the wiki article for a nearby location to where you took the photo
3. Click on the geocoordinates in the top right corner of the article
4. Copy the geocoordinates from the GeoHack page, and close the tab/window
5. Paste the numbers into the GeoLocater page, and click apply
6. Move the location marker on most exact location to where you took the photo
7. Copy the resulting {{Location}} numbers into the "Additional info" field when you upload the photo

Thank you, thine will be done. Bluedawe (talk) 00:20, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nice. I would have done it myself, but it takes five times as long when you have to guess each street name. If you want your photographs to be used, we usually recommend that you re-upload them all to Flickr. Personally I wouldn't bother, wiki articles will have interactive maps prob by the end of the year. Ottre 02:05, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This file may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:King Parrot Feeding.ogg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Hallo Bluedawe, thank you very much for this clarification! I have tried to make it even clearer based on your additions. Fine for you?
I hope you understand by cautiousness - we often get videos with music "borrowed" (illegally) from somewhere. Best wishes --Saibo (Δ) 01:01, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's fine, and I'll use that as a template for any future uploads that include my music. Bluedawe (talk) 06:36, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bargo railway viaduct and more....

[edit]

@Bluedawe: Hi there. Thanks for your contributions to the Wikisphere!

  1. I believe that the image that you took in June 2010 and named as [[File:Tahmoor Rail Bridge.jpg]], is in fact the Bargo railway viaduct, given both the coordinates in your image and the description of the viaduct/bridge taken from the New South Wales State Heritage Register. What are your thoughts - Tahmoor or Bargo?
  2. Also, do you live in the area? There are a number of images needed to help complete historic sites in the Southern Highlands and Macarther regions; and it would be great to have someone local to help. I look forward to your feedback.

Cheers Rangasyd (talk) 12:11, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you are right, Bargo Railway Viaduct is the correct title.
Yes, I do live in the Macarthur Region, and would be willing to contribute images. Bluedawe (talk) 02:45, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
File:C E M Joad 1945 by Griff.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
