Copyright status: File:Castillo Palacio de los Luna en Luna.png
[edit]Copyright status: File:Castillo Palacio de los Luna en Luna.png
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Castillo Palacio de los Luna en Luna.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

"historical images of" categories
[edit]Hi. I noticed you created a couple of "historical images of" categories earlier. Please see Commons:Categories for discussion/2019/09/Category:Historical images. Just to summarize, the outcome of it was that we shouldn't create "historical images" categories anymore in favor of ones containing the word "history" minus "images." So I'd appreciate it if you did that from now instead. Thanks. Adamant1 (talk) 12:52, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- My absolute bad!! Thanks for the heads up and wont happen again of course!! Should I leave the categories the way they are or should I remove them? Thank you! :) Azahara00 (talk) 20:30, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- No problem. There really should have been an announcement about it on the Village Pump or something. You can leave the categories how they are for now. Someone will probably deal with them eventually if they haven't already. Thanks. --Adamant1 (talk) 03:29, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
How to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category
[edit]English · français
When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at [[:Category::Reliefs of coats of arms in Gistaín]]. ("C1" and "C2" come from Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion). Jmabel ! talk 18:42, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oh no! When I was reorganizing the images I must have forgotten to add them again! My idea was to have both images in both categories as they are both the coat of arms of the population but reliefs of coats of arms as well. There is no problem with that, right?
- Thanks still for the info about the speedy delete!!Azahara00 (talk) 09:22, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- I just saw this now because you didn't ping me when responding. (I'll watch your page now.) You can feel free to recreate the categories, but give them parents and content! - Jmabel ! talk 00:42, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
Questionable categorization
[edit]I don't think this is right. For example, if I understand the category correctly, it can include a painting (anywhere in the world) representing something that is in Haguenau-Wissembourg; it can contain an image of an artifact that is not a Monument Historique; etc. I'm honestly not sure if the category itself is worth keeping. I can't remember seeing any like it. We don't have (for example) Category:Paris in museums or even Category:France in museums. It feels ill-conceived to me. Unless you have a better idea how to approach this, I'd rather take it to WP:CFD. - Jmabel ! talk 00:47, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry about not pinging you before, im still new to this sphere of the Wikimedia Project as I usually kept myself to editing and lurking, I'll make sure to ping from now on. :)
- About the category, I agree that including it into the Monument Historique category wasnt correct and that the category itself is ill-conceived. Maybe the files should be categorized as "Archaeological objects from Brumath" for example?. I dont really know as there isnt a categorization by cities in that category itself and Im not sure if its the best way of action. What do you think? @Jmabel Azahara00 (talk) 09:11, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
- OK. I'll revert your edit and take this to a CfD. - Jmabel ! talk 10:55, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
