Hello, Arofol~commonswiki!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

The name of the text generating template, which you put into my discussion page, sound please link image. There are some links to this image. But you are right, I will search for some categories. Greetings from Berlin, Arofol 22:27, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kleine Anmerkung

[edit]

Zunächst einmal herzlich willkommen in Wikimedia Commons.

Arofol 10:29, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image has been restored, but note you can't cite other Wikimedia projects as sources for "PD-old" stuff and unless a proper source is provided, it will be deleted again. regards, pfctdayelise (translate?) 05:49, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why will it be deleted again? Isn't it obvious that no one could claim copyright of this deathmask of a man who died more then 200 years ago? Arofol 16:38, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There is a difference between the obviously public domain 3D work (the deathmask) and a 2D photo of it. The photo can nontheless be copyrighted. So if you can't proof that this image is PD itself (exact source, death of photographer etc.) we have to delete it as copyvio. Please read Commons:Licensing for details. Thanks for uploading Image:Adressbuch-Berlin-1937-Eintrag-Familien-Manes.gif. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use GFDL-self to release it under the GFDL or PD-self to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. The content was created by the Einwohnermeldeamt Berlin. As far as I know - I'm not a lawyer - , this content is public domain, as you could see in Commons:Licensing#official_works. Arofol 22:38, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Arofol 14:32, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
IMHO: This book is not part of an official "Gesetz", "Erlass" or "Verordnung". Thafor the "official work" exception cannot apply. So please take the time and look for german court decissions about such database works like phone books and adress books. Any results will help us in future with similar cases. As it is now it is simply unknown if it is PD or not and images with unknown license status have to be deleted. It is not the duty of an admin looking for sources of PD claims (although in this case it is likely) in its the duty of the uploader. Arnomane 10:30, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have done that. At that time (1937) the official adress data of all inhabitants of Berlin was published on the behalf of the city of Berlin. Till today you could this common data which is published in internet by the ZLB (library of the city of Berlin). The Berliner Einwohnermeldeamt (the town registration of address office) which collected and administered the data in 1937 is evidently established by law. The internet-site, powered by ZLB, which is today publishing the data, only requests, that citations must have a tag saying published by use of official sources. Der publishing company in 1937, was the nazi-company Franz-Eher-Verlag, which was interdicted by Kontrollratsgesetz Nr. 2 by the 29th of october 1945 as part of the nazip-party NSDAP. The copy- and other rights were inherited to and are today owned by the Freistaat Bayern which is part of german state. In my eyes - I'm not a lawyer - there are only public institutions which could claim copyright. The onliest remaining legwork of the publishing company in my color taged image could be seen in the work of textprocessing and printing in a font called fraktur. I don't think, that this work could claim the necessity Schöpfungshöhe which ist imperative, if someone claims Urheberrechte (copyright) in german law. On the other side this image could be seen a citation. For all this reasons I would think, that there is neither a copyright-claimer, a law grounding such claims nor there is a way preventing citations, in the case, a copyright is held. But I'm not a lawyer an so I will try to find other informations about this case. Arofol 14:32, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BTW @Arnomane I would prefer if you stop asking for help and speaking for the WP-projects, as long as [you don't stop to devastate] and protecting krryptonazis vandalising of my userpages User:Arofol/Links and User:Arofol.

I don't need to accept being called a "krryptonazi". My patience with you is over. Good bye. You have been blocked permantently. Arnomane 16:53, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
P.S.: If you are honestly interested in a substantial improvement of your behaviour towards others you can write anonymously on my talk page and we will see (I don't demand an apology, I am just interested in good will). Arnomane 16:58, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You are devastating my user page and you are protecting krryptonazis against my critics and don't demand an apology? How about your apology? In future I will call you a Freizeitdiktator aswell. Arofol2 13:59, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Wie siehst Du das? Arofolo 17:23, 3. Jul 2006 (CEST)

Vancancy Dictator Arnomane

[edit]

devastated my user page and is protecting german krryptonazis against my critics. Now he ist blockading my account (Freizeitdiktator) and askes for apology for his devastatings. Should I write a newsgroup article against him? Arofol 09:12, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

It gets boring with your sock puppets. I did show a lot of patience with you especially given the fact that you were blocked many times because of heavy POV, threats and edit wars in de.wikipedia. Please see your talk page User talk:Arofol how to get your old account unblocked. I did write there quite in detail that I don't demand much from you in order to get it unblocked. So please stop creating silly sock puppets of you and try to solve the issue in a positive manner as I suggested to you manytimes (in German and English). Arnomane 09:21, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You are requesting a Kowwtow. But I do not give respect to people who support the mobbers and the mobbing against Hans Bug in the german wikipedia (in fact this mobbing is nazism which respect to godwins law and a Hanswurstiade with respect to Hannah Arendt), abuseres of their privileges, who are unable to argue and people like you, who are going the easy way. Arofol 09:37, 5 July 2006 (UTC) BTW: it is a cooked lie, that I was blocked because of heavy POV.[reply]
 • Calling people (krrypto)nazis invalidates your argument and is a reason for blocking
 • Threats against other users are a reason for blocking
 • registering under a new name after being blocked is a reason for an indefinite block on the new account.

I will support you. The violence against Hans Bug in the german wikipedia is a scandal, which is impairing the whole WP-project.

User Arnomane is abusing his privileges.

New idle threads and an answer to that

[edit]

Maybe you just have noticed it. With every day more people revert and block you after very short time. So you definitely will not reach your aim if you go further along that way regardless how right or wrong you are with your initial problem.

I have seen your history comment regarding contacting you in private via email but honestly such a short hint is by far not enough and as it is now every communication with you will be done in public (a private email statement that you maybe decline from your actions is not worth the time).

You know what what you are supposed to do and what not. I don't need to repeat myself once again. Maybe you have noticed that I didn't block one of your sock puppets because it had only a useful edit so I can and do differentiate. So you can write some civil answer here that clearly states that you decline from your actions either with that account or as IP. I do not accept any answer that states a sentences like "but Arnomane...". Every further sock puppet of you will be blocked ASAP.

If you decide to proceed with your action I can promise you that it will have some (legal) implications on your real life. This is no joke. Thanks for your understanding. Arnomane 12:49, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As long as you devastate my discussion page and as long as you are blocading my user page, I will not stop to say loud and clear about this factum. I will do this according to german and american law. It will harm your reputation and as long as you don't stop to violate wikiquette rules: you have to bear the consequences. You behaviour is harming the WP project. I am prepared to give evidence of your dissemination of documented untruth about me, which could be subject of a lawsuit according to german law. I am prepared to give evidence of beeing subject of nazi devastatings of my WP participations. And I accuse you publically to protect such devastatings. And I do not use methodes like yours as I try to read and hear - and not to hide - the other side: audiatur et altera pars. Novelscale 14:14, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
