Map deletion nominations
[edit]Hi AptlNair, From the welcome I see that you are fairly new here, so you probably won't know thatthe accuracy of maps is a bugbear of many, many users not just you, and that the nomination of what some see as inaccurate maps is territory well travelled. In order to agree with one side, Commons must agree that the other side is wrong, and this has in the past led to bitter exchanges with no good resolutions. So the consensus is that as a repository Commons will host all maps, even some that users acuse of being fictional, and it is at the local projects that editors can argue as to whether a map is accurate or not. You can still argue for the removal of maps from use at individual wikipedia projects, but Commons is not Wikipedia.--KTo288 (talk) 13:36, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
