Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki ‒ it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Your uploads
[edit]Hello. Are you really the author of Image:Dancingforfreedom.jpg and Image:Housefees.jpg? If so, you know we don't really want user art. If you're not the author, don't say you are. These will soon be deleted. - Rocket000 18:11, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- I emailed you regarding permission but I wanted to explain more here. I believe you are the copyright holder of these images, however that's different than being the author. One of the images deleted did not specify what license it was released under. (See Commons:Licensing) Both of them also contained photographs. The posters then are considered derivative works, do you also own those works or have received permission to use them? We're pretty strict on copyrights given our scope. I'm going to restore the images, please add the necessary information (specially the license). Thanks again. - Rocket000 20:34, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
--Andreafed 02:14, 24 February 2008 (UTC)I will do that this evening. And, yes, I understand your concern. Both posters were created by LVDA's graphics committee of which I was a part. And as president, I'm the sole copywright holder. As far as "derivative rights" are concerned, you might have a point. Dancing For Freedom was modified from an old '60's band poster found on the internet. Housefees used a photograph also found on the web, but I would be hard-pressed to remember the source. But it's certainly not user art. It was a flyer created to generate members in 2002 and as such has direct bearing on the material. Thanks.
- Yeah, I saw the Wikipedia article and it didn't look like user art anyway, it was just the self-made claim. We get a lot of user-created artwork that's really of no use to any of the Wikimedia projects. These images definitely have use if they're in a WP article, so there's no problem there. We're happy to have official artwork. It's just like I said, there may be issues with being derivative works. Besides that, everything seems to be in order. - Rocket000 02:43, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

File:Housefees.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Andreafed. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Andreafed~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
