Turu and Tidur

[edit]

Hello, can you please provide a reason why Category:Turu and Category:Tidur shall not be deleted? Regards, Poco a poco (talk) 23:42, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Category discussion warning

Category:Turu has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

Hi. Would you mind providing some more detail about this category and its contained images. I am looking to categorise it, however, I don't see enough to add that context. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 00:54, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User:Altair Netraphim/Disclaimer

[edit]

Hi, I just saw your User:Altair Netraphim/Disclaimer template on an image, and thought I should draw your attention to two issues with it:

  • YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO UPLOAD THIS FILE TO ALL SOCIAL NETWORKS is an inappropriate override of the CC licence; other templates of this nature were discussed at Commons:Deletion requests/Template:Nofacebook and Commons:Deletion requests/NoFacebook templates a few years ago, with the ruling being that they were not appropriate.
  • For printed publication, you must contact the author via email for approval. Use the highest resolution as soon as possible. has a similar issue. Either the image is CC licenced or it isn't: if you add additional, personal restrictions on its reuse, that seems to be going against the fundamentals of Commons:Licensing.

I'd suggest that you reframe the printed clause as a suggestion (which other users do, saying it would be nice to be told when an image is used in a particular way, but that there is no requirement to) and remove the social media clause. Belbury (talk) 15:56, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
