Latex to SVG

[edit]

Hello,

In order to create the french version, I try to generate the exact same SVG as you from the source regarding File:Electrical Telegraph Schematic.svg. I have used several programs (e.g. those indicated there : https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/LaTeX/Export_To_Other_Formats#Vector_graphics ) but I can't succeed. How was it generated ?

Thank you

@Jona: Hello,

i don't know how experienced you are with Latex but in the beginning it can be hard to compile a Latex source. I did the picture with MacTex and TexStudion and compiled it to an PDF. Afterwords i used the program pdf2svg from your link. Instead of creating an french version, maybe i could change the picture to use numbering instead of the words and put the corresponding explanation in the description, like proposed here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Translation_possible/Learn_more#Using_numbers_instead_of_labels . I could change it by end of the week and you could add the french translation to it. What do you think about that idea?

Hello @42CrMo4: ,
The problem was not to generate the SVG but to generate the same as yours. :-)
The numbering seems a good idea. Let's go that way !

Hello @42CrMo4: ,
Thank you for numbered version.
Here is the trials : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vaho8mjxswmp1db/AADqDMXU2XtctgHEqr1P-i3ha?dl=0
What annoyed me was that the dimensions mentioned at the beginning of the file was not the same as yours (yeah, I compared file at the text level).
I will update your version when I find some time.

Hello @Jona: ,
OH, i forgot about that. I didn't know how to change the dimension in the process, so i did it by hand. I doubled the dimension, because i thought it was too small. Do you know a better way?

Hello @42CrMo4: ,
I modified slightly your numbered version with two things. First is to make some lines ticker to render better with small dimension (like in the bitmap image) and the second is the loose end of the paper. If you find these modifications are an improvement, you can upload it with your account. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/y0zutphdjwl4oyp/AACOnwfEC1w8M1u2KSot3Egba?dl=0
