- Dear 10mmsocket, I work for the minister of Justice in Belgium. He asked the logo would be updated as it is no longer permitted to use the old logo. I agree with your rollback of me uploading the new logo, but I cannot agree that you rolled back to the previous version of the logo since it is no longer permitted to use that one. - You need to upload a logo with the right permissions. You cannot say it is "your own work" because it very clearly is not your personal work. See the frequently asked questions and licensing policy, or ask for help at the help desk / village pump. There is definitely a way that you can upload the new logo, probably directly over the old one even. 10mmsocket (talk) 12:38, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
Voice of America (VOA) copyright status
[edit]I believe you fundamentally miscalculated something. All in-house VOA content, be it text, images, audio or video is in the PUBLIC DOMAIN as part of US government work. Content that is externally made, so content from AP, AFP, Reuters is not, because those are copyrighted. The photo related to your recent speedy deletion request is an in-house photo made by a VOA photographer, therefore it is in the public domain. To check the in-house crediting ("Henry Ridgwell/VOA"), see:
You can see the VOA copyright terms here: https://www.voanews.com/p/5338.html (as linked from the VOA PD licence template)
You may also take note of the following category full of public domain VOA content: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:PD_VOA_(VOA)

- No I haven't. Look at the very first statement on the page "All text, audio and video material produced exclusively by the Voice of America is in the public domain". Not images. Followed by "However, voanews.com content may also contain text, video, audio, images, graphics, and other copyrighted material that is licensed for use in VOA programming only. This material is not in the public domain and may not be copied, redistributed, sold, or published without the express permission of the copyright owner." As there is no clear indication that this image is public domain it must be assumed that it is copyright. 10mmsocket (talk) 12:58, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
