Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

I Realize Your Question. The Correct Spell of 運星 is YUN HSING. The Chinese ship name hieroglyphs in Right side of Shiphead as Ship forward way 星(Hsing)運(Yun) From Right to Left, and English ship name Spell YUN HSING Keep From Left to Right.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Dear 玄史生,

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

  • In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
  • In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)

We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:

  1. 157 people voted for the winner, an image of a lightbulb with the tungsten filament smoking and burning.
  2. In second place, 155 people voted for an image of "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
  3. In third place, 131 people voted for an image of a swallow flying and drinking.

Commons:File renaming - Criterions

If you rename your own uploads, you should use Criterion #1. Criterion #5 is not suitable for example in this File:ROCA 302nd Infantry Brigade Colonel Lin Report Act Persons and Units in Event Opening 20131012.jpg, because there are any adds or abusive words in this name. In this case it should be Criterion #1 or #4. But remember, that Criterion #1 is best => it has no conditions to fulfill. Read the table on Commons:File renaming page, please ;-)

活動邀約

在開拓動漫祭的媒體集常可見到閣下拍攝的cosplay照片，不知閣下對Cosplay Field 角色扮演交流市集有無興趣。這場市集，明天11:00-18:00在台北小巨蛋星光廳舉辦的台北場我會去，7月4日10:30-16:00在台中20號倉庫藝術特區21號倉庫舉辦的台中場我就去不了（地點不在高鐵沿線，光靠大眾運輸工具當天來回有難度）。另外，希望也能見到閣下在漫畫博覽會或台北國際動漫節拍攝的照片。--Solomon203 (talk) 12:14, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

感謝閣下的告知，6月28日的Cosplay Field 臺北場小生會去（離小生住的地方不遠），但7月4日小生要去花蓮市陸軍花防部東美崙營區開放活動，這個優先順位比較高，Cosplay Field 臺中場恐怕無能為力。2015年8月9日漫博風聞有釘宮理惠要來，五年前臺北國際書展那次因故未去，不克親自記錄「壯舉」，至今猶以為恨，只是8月8日就是高雄岡山空軍官校營區開放活動，所以今年去漫博的時間還在慎重考慮中。其他FF、CWT系以外的活動只要時間與身體狀況許可，也會盡量多去攝影。--玄史生 (talk) 14:35, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

閣下住在臺北市民生社區吧？我剛從Cosplay Field臺北場回來，感覺展場沒我想像中的大，各攤位展售的商品我沒興趣所以都沒拍，臺北小巨蛋外的cosplayer大多扮演我不認識的角色，所以忍痛不拍（寧缺勿濫），只拍了初音未來與鏡音鈴的cosplayer。今天下午的臺北陽光極強，Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX7拍攝的成果可能不太好，但仍拍了國立臺北科技大學西側門、臺安醫院、內政部營建署、合作金庫銀行新總行大樓、臺北希望廣場八德路一段原址的照片（刻意繞路至天津街2號原行政院新聞局大樓前欲拍攝外觀，遇上大門路面鋪柏油工程而作罷）。8月9日10:30-12:00，釘宮理惠會在漫博B舞台區辦簽名會，是木棉花請來的。謹說明如上。--Solomon203 (talk) 11:06, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

小生也去了Cosplay Field臺北場，的確如閣下所言，與其說是Cosplay場，倒更像是Cosplay用品展，如果以拍Cosplayer的立場，的確是不如預期。不過基於記錄活動的考量，還是在場內拍了一些照片（白天星光廳燈光不算亮，靠窗的地方陽光又過量，中低階數位相機拍起來並非易事）。不過話說回來，當天下午二時，小生送母親搭飛機到澎湖，滯留活動的時間並不長（上午11時40分至下午1時30分），如果待得夠久，應該還可以拍到更多Cosplayer，參考這則手機遊戲網站的新聞報導。
辨認日新月異的Cosplayer對與流行半脫節的小生的確是很辛苦的事，有時確認一張就要花上一、兩個小時，何況還要用英文表記。可是精確確認角色與分類的Cosplayer照片不只對他人有幫助，更有助於在搜索引擎上曝光與提升排行的機會，所以只要時間許可，還是盡可能一一查明，如果不清楚就先保留，待日後確認再公開。--玄史生 (talk) 15:57, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

8月1至2日於大臺中國際會展中心舉行的2015臺中動漫力，不知閣下是否會前往。2013臺中動漫力兩天我都有親臨現場，免費入場，但高鐵臺北－臺中自由座來回票兩天總票價將近3000元，很傷荷包，這很可能是我這輩子唯一親臨臺中動漫力的紀錄。以2013及2014年的經驗，漫畫博覽會以企業攤為主，幾乎沒有cosplayer可拍，2013年漫博只有不知哪個攤位的《刀劍神域》亞絲娜cosplayer主動邀我拍照。台北國際動漫節我尚未去過，我想也會有跟漫博相同的情況。如果閣下希望能在漫博或台北國際動漫節也能拍到許多cosplayer照片，閣下可能要失望了。2015年漫博的預售票我已購入，若無意外我會親臨，純看展及拍照，無購物規劃。--Solomon203 (talk) 10:50, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

感謝閣下的告知，現在小生頭痛的是CWT40在今年8月8日～9日，8月8日如前述有高雄岡山空軍官校營區開放活動，肯定去不了；8月9日如果去漫博看釘宮場（？），CWT40就只剩下午半天能拍了。漫博拍Cosplayer自是不用期待，但小生認為重要的是在本人與主辦單位的許可範圍內，極力捕捉臺灣漫畫家，小說家（不計有名無名）的身影，自己雖然作過一些，但成果不多。2012年臺北國際書展印刻出版席慕蓉先生簽書會，先生抬頭面對觀眾那張，因為不方便用閃光燈，對焦不準，畫質極差，至今引以為恨；但小生也看過某臺灣輕小說作家簽書會，從開始至結束不到五分鐘的慘事，就某些方面來說比名家還難拍（苦笑）。今年漫博期間雖然事情不少，但至少會挑一天去參觀拍照。

展場一位女性工作人員說，展示品原則上是連工作人員都不能觸碰的；但若參觀者欲拍攝展示品各角度照片，至服務台請求工作人員協助，仍有獲得工作人員協助拍攝的機會。中視提供展示的Sony手提外景1吋帶錄放影機，開展時上蓋是開的；我依她的建議至服務台請求協助，成功拍到開上蓋及關上蓋的照片。稍後我會把照片傳上來（2015年9月20日補記：此機型號為BVH-500，照片已全部上傳）。--Solomon203 (talk) 05:22, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
2015年9月18日下午4時，至松菸文創園區參觀第50屆金鐘獎特別展。場地規模不算大，雖然對中華民國廣播、電視史沒有太多研究，但是看到那個代表臺灣電視文化黎明期，1960～1970年代一般家庭的客廳家具擺設能如此忠實重現氣氛，就知道展覽辦的並不苟且，遺憾的仍是現場停留時間太短，照片日後會公開。--玄史生 (talk) 15:02, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

今晚在堵南國小操場現場錄影，內容分兩段，第一段來賓是鄭仲茵、王彩樺，第二段來賓是丁國琳、方瑞娥，第一段與第二段之間錄本集開場。實際錄影是從19點整開始，三立電視只派舞台車與公務車來，攝影機都是無限映像而非三立的。明天白天要加班，所以錄完本集開場以後我必須提前回家，第二段只看到方瑞娥唱完第一首歌而已。離場時目測，觀眾席外圍無法入座的觀眾多達三圈。照片會經整理後陸續上傳。--Solomon203 (talk) 13:09, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

2017臺北國際電玩展開幕前一天的亞太遊戲高峰會2017年度大會星期四議程，以及星期五2017臺北國際電玩展玩家區開放參觀，由於東家人力調度的原因，確定我無法請假去拍照；但下星期一或許能請假去。原本有意星期四請假去現場拍蝴蝶數位娛樂執行長胡龍雲（SD太郎）正面照片，胡龍雲曾任東森綜合台電玩節目《遊戲駭客族》主持人、太陽休閒台電玩節目《遊戲Y世代》主持人、太陽休閒台電玩節目《遊戲變色龍》主持人、科樂美授權華義國際發行《純愛手札》Windows中文版簽約記者會主持人等職（詳細資歷請看這裡，上列三個節目我都看過）；今日確定無法如願，甚憾，不知閣下是否能代拍。（附記：《遊戲駭客族》在中文維基百科有獨立條目，至今均由我獨力編輯，請參考。）--Solomon203 (talk) 14:21, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

小生2017年11月21日因右足蜂窩性組織炎住院，其間開刀2次，到同年12月29日才出院，因此去年年末的活動全部報銷（只有醫院內外手機拍的照片）。即使現在也還在家靜養，不克遠行，粗估至少要2月上旬才能完全康復，所以1月底的2018臺北國際電玩展等不能去的機會非常大，不能抱太大的期待。
