First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
  • Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Kategorije

Nemoj da dodaješ ove kategorije. Ovde su kategorije na engleskom (uglavnom), a čak i tamo gde ostanu na nekom drugom jeziku uglavnom su na latinici (bar je to slučaj sa srpskim). micki 09:10, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Da, bolje je da ovde postavljaš slike jer onda mogu da se koriste na svim wiki projektima. Takođe si u pravu kada kažeš da je bolje imati više kategorija, ali treba poštovati postojeći sistem kategorizacije na ovom projektu. Nije problem to što si pogrešila, jer su to radili svi na početku (uključujući i mene). Pogledao sam šta je od tvojih doprinosa obrisano na Ostavi: bilo je nekoliko slika koje si zatražila da se obrišu i jedno kršenje autorskih prava. Ništa strašno, IMO. Ako ti zatreba neka pomoć slobodno se obrati meni ili bilo kojem drugom iole iskusnom korisniku, tako da će i grešaka vremenom biti sve manje i manje. Pozdrav! micki 10:02, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Obaveštenje koje si dobila je standardno, odnosno u pitanju je šablonska poruka koja se šalje korisnicima. Cilj je da se ne gubi vreme u stalnom pisanju iste poruke, što ima smisla (posebno ako šalješ na stotine takvih poruka, ponekad i po 10-20 dnevno), a da ujedno u toj poruci bude objašnjeno i u čemu je problem i kako isti može da se reši. Stoga ne treba to da te pogađa, jer postoji na desetine drugih standardnih poruka koje možeš da dobiješ ovde, na sr.wp ili bilo kom drugom projektu. Što se tiče blokiranih korisnika, ne znam o kome tačno govoriš. Blokiranje je sastavni deo posla admina i tom sredstvu se pribegava ukoliko prijavljeni ili neprijavljeni korisnik vandalizuje projekat, često krši određena pravila i sl. Međutim, da ne raspravljamo ovde o blokovima koji su se desili drugde (pretpostavljam da se tvoj komentar odnosio na Vikipediju). Bila ti slučajni prolaznik ili ne, možeš da računaš na moju pomoć. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Hello.

Can you add Montenegro which became a NATO member in 2017 in File:NATO expansion-sr.svg and File:NATO expansion.png?

Can you also add Sout Sudan in File:Africa Pressure Map July.svg, File:Africa Pressure Map January.svg, File:Africa Ocean Currents Map-sr.svg, File:Africa Temperature Map-sr.svg, File:Africa Precipitation Map-sr.svg?

I am adding South Sudan (as well as Montenegro and other possible missing updates) in the PNG maps in Category:Maps needing South Sudan political boundaries and then remove this category after updating them. There were close to 1100 maps since I started to update these files on 1 March 2018, now it is reduced to less than 570 maps, but there is a long way to go.

Unfortunately I don't know how to edit SVG maps and complicated PNG maps myself, that is why I asked you.
