User:Willscrlt/Templates/RolesTopIcon
{{User:Willscrlt/Templates/RolesTopIcon}} adds a little icon in the top-right corner of your user page indicating that you are a member of that group role. It provides a link to easily verify your status, and it also automatically categorizes your user page into the matching category.
Usage
[edit]This icon is based on {{Top icon}}, and uses the same parameters. Place {{User:Willscrlt/Templates/RolesTopIcon}} anywhere on your user page. In addition to the icon in the top corner, it will automatically add the page on which it is placed (assuming it is your user page) into the relevant category for the role that you specify.

You must specify a recognized role, or else you will display a red question mark indicating an error. The template recognizes only the following roles (more could be added fairly easily if you feel like it):

Desired updates
[edit]The following updates/improvements would be useful:
- Some of the icons I used are not specific to Wikimedia Commons, so someone might want to create a more appropriate icon for such roles.
- Also, not all of the icons look the same size when viewed at 20px size, and that's a little annoying.
- There are additional roles that have no icons at all, and someone might want to make icons for them and add the roles in here.
- The template supports multilingual text, but since I don't know any other languages well enough to write them, it would be nice if someone else could add translations.
Feel free to make any of these changes to the template, but be aware that if you mess things up, it could cause several people to become upset, since it might mess up their user pages.
