Ya'ahowu. Salam. Willkommen. Welcome. I have known wikipedia since my university years in Germany long time ago and have supported the cause with donation. However I have never been active as a writer apart from some editing.

Just recently I started being interested in contributing to Wikipedia Nias[1] and Wiktionary Nias[2], which are still in incubator stage.
While I'm thinking to contribute to the project Nias on wikipedia, I have had other related projects, that serve similar purposes.
As smartphones are ubiquitous in Nias and people there are highly active on social media groups, I see that as a chance to preserve the Nias language. The use of Nias language is obviously in decline[3] even more now as more and more people converse in Indonesian, including on the social media apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, etc.
Unfortunately the standard English keyboard, that is pre-installed on almost all devices circulated in Nias and elsewhere, doesn't have the Nias character ŵ and ö.
Therefore I started Nias Keyboard project[4] last year to help people in Nias writing in their own language. One of them is providing the Nias keyboard (now available on Google Play [5]) and giving them tips how to be able to write in Nias with the Google keyboard Gboard and on the standard PC keyboard.
And in order to complete this tools I have to create a Nias dictionary that can be used for spelling in Android apps and on PC. I have now compiled almost 10,000 words, which are used in that Android app above and can be injected in Gboard.
At the moment I am at the stage of creating hunspell affix rules for Nias[6], which is now on GitHub [7] and can be enhanced by anybody who loves to preserve Nias language.
If you are somehow in the same journey as me I would like to get in touch. I would like to work together with other coders to work on these projects. So please do get in touch. slaia talk 11:13, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
