Middlesbrough Futsal Club have completed the signing of two time English Champion, Pablo de Oliveira.
De Oliveira, who has played for Kickers, Ipswich Wolves and Helvecia, winning the national title with the latter two will join Middlesbrough in September when he has recovered from a knee operation and will be Boro's fifth signing in the lead up to the transfer deadline.
"I got to know Pablo well when I took the under-14s to Perth and it was apparent that he has an unrivalled love for futsal and we stayed in touch since then. He has the desire not just to play and win, but to use his vast experience to help those around him. Our club is the perfect situation for him where he can really affect young English players for the good of the game, and still have a chance of success," said Shaw.
Pablo is currently recovering from injury and is aiming to be back in action in September, when he will be able to make his Boro debut in the home game against FC Barsa before having a shot at winning his third consecutive title!
Pablo's committment to English futsal is such that he is applying for citizenship so that he is eligible to play for the three lions in international matches. He has already representing England in a training friendly and he describes it as the proudest moment of his life.

Boro manager Damon Shaw has been busy in the transfer market with five signings to bolster his squad in the run up to the end of the season. Jamie Russell has signed on as a back-up goalkeeper, while Ben Amos is returning to the club after a year away. Mathew Payne and Pablo de Oliveira represent two big signings in English futsal and signal Boro's intent to challenge for honours this season, while Ignacio de Leon will join after the Errea International Futsal Cup.
"We've signed two players who will add international experience in Pablo and Nacho while Mat Payne will be a goal threat whoever he plays against. Jamie [Russell] is a young promising keeper and [Ben] Amos is returning to the squad after a year away, but we will be aiming to have Ben ready for next season as his fitness may be lower than we like. He will be an option should we need him, and a good one at that," summarised Shaw.
