About us
The State Library of North Carolina was founded in 1812 and is the principal library of North Carolina state government. It serves to build the capacity of all libraries in North Carolina, and develops and supports access to traditional and online collections such as genealogy, North Carolina culture and heritage, and resources for the blind and physically handicapped. Within the State Library, the Government and Heritage Library (GHL) collects, preserves, and provides long-term public access to North Carolina state government publications and other materials documenting the state's cultural heritage. |
