These images from Dinosaur National Monument were taken on October 14–15, 2005, from along or near either of the two auto tour routes.
Tour of the Tilted Rocks
[edit]This auto tour route along Cub Creek Road begins from the western entrance of Dinosaur N.M. reached via local road 149, north of Jensen, Utah. It provides access to the Visitor Center and Dinosaur Quarry, Split Mountain, Green River, Cub Creek, and Josie Morris Cabin.

Cub Creek Valley overlook
[edit]These images were all taken from an overlook above the Green River Campground.
The Green River meanders to the southeast past the Green River Campground (lower left, near side of the river). A private farmstead occupies the land on the far side of the river and lies outside the monument's borders. The auto tour road proceeds on to the right (outside of frame) before crossing the river in the right side of the photograph. Cliff Ridge is the farthest ridge appearing in the background. For this photograph the camera was tilted to create an image with the greatest possible horizontal distance. | ||

Morrison Formation
[edit]
The distictive banding of the Morrison Formation, a group of rock layers that occur throughout the monument. The formation originated as muds and sands laid down by ancient rivers, and some of its outcrops have been found to contain 150-million-year-old dinosaur fossils like those found at the Dinosaur Quarry. |
