Relation between amavas and ghosts in Bengali culture

As we all know a new moon (amavas)(অমাবস্যা) is associated with the supernatural evil activities of the world. In Bengali culture, an amavas is considered the darkest night of the month. The para-nominal forces gain most of their powers on that day. In Bengali culture, all the good things are related to the sun. But the sun only stays in the daytime; in the nighttime, there is the moon sharing its light. but on the new moon, that light is also gone. So all that is good just fades away. The evil and the paranormal entities come to powers on this day and especially at night. On the new moon, all the worshippers of the evil Would worship Satan (শয়তান) and expect their vile wishes to come true. A new moon is perfect for any spirit to get into a human body. Some superstitious beliefs of Bengali culture forbid pregnant women to go outside their houses in the middle hours of the day and night, especially on the new moon. Kali (কালী) the goddess of witchcraft and asur (অসুর) is worshiped on the new moon. Many references to the connection between Amavas and evil entities are shown throughout the Bengali myths and legends.
