Something annoying about new laptops is that they have fewer USB ports and often only a MicroSD card reader instead of full SD, which leads to discomfort and adapter hell.
Adapters can be forgotten and get lost, so it is better for the laptop to have the ports and slots integrated.
Even low-end laptops from a decade ago typically feature more ports than today's high-end laptops, and featured upgradeable storage and memory, as well as a replaceable battery.
