Dear Sirs,
I am a long term volunteer with Wikimedia Commons, the open access website that supports Wikipedia and other open knowledge projects with many millions of media files such as photographs and document scans.
Images from the 1979 edition of the Canadian Field-Naturalist were released on Flickr by the Internet Archive under a "no copyright known" license. These were later imported to Wikimedia Commons as part of our "book plates" project, using the best metadata available with the images.[1][2]
The copyright status of these is under review, and our policy on Wikimedia Commons is to delete files where there is a significant doubt about copyright status, as the images must be either public domain or under a free licence such as CC-BY-SA that may require attribution but imposes no other constraint for reuse. Could you please confirm the copyright license you apply to these historical editions? If you could confirm a CC-BY-SA license applies for editions published before a certain date, then I can ensure that all files are correctly marked with this information.

Thank you in advance for your help.
