My name is Dick Hoefsloot, born in 1954 and I live in Leidschendam, The Netherlands.

I have worked for the Dutch navy, was the project leader for the (CEPT/ETSI) specification and construction of the initial Dutch mobile GSM network (KPN) and served as boardmember on behalf of KPN on the Eutelsat Board and Inmarsat Council as well as independent boardmember for Inmarsat. From 1994 to 1996 I was chairman of the Eutelsat Board.

Since 2000 I run my own company called "DSH electronics" that specialized in GPS solutions, Tracking and Tracing as well as speech-driven software for visually impaired users. Websites: http://www.dsh2000.com and http://www.artipal.com

My father (D.J.Hoefsloot) served in the Dutch Navy between 1938 and 1946. He was the barber on board of the Hr.Ms.Maurits-1 and Hr.Ms.Isaac Sweers. Both ships sank after being torpedoed and he survived both attacks. One of his hobbies was photography. A number of his historically important photographs have recently been added to Wikipedia.
