3D model support coming soon to Commons

Hello! Just a quick note to let you all know that support for 3D models is coming to Commons. The plan is to have the feature enabled by the end of November 2017. There are a few technical items left to address. The feature will support the STL file format, one of the most common file formats for 3D models. You can see an example of how a 3D model will appear on the test wiki.

This feature has been discussed in the community for a long time. Most recently the feature was #11 on the 2015 Community Tech Wishlist and was previously discussed in April as development progressed. There will be a blog post on the Wikimedia Blog once the feature is enabled.
