Audrey Mulama was born on the 1st of September 1992. She was raised in Nairobi Kenya. She is the daughter of Moses and Roselyne Mulama.Her parents believed in providing good education for her and her 3 siblings.For this reason she spent most of her time in the city. She is the founder of KECBO an environmental community based organisation registered in Kakamega County Western Kenya. The organization is focused on ending the use of mercury in Artisanal small scale gold Mining .Mining is an activity predominant in the west of Kenya. KECBO is currently working on restoring land destroyed due to unregulated mining and also conduct water treatment of mercury polluted water ways.In the year 2019,KECBO conducted a land rehabilitation activity on abandoned mine sites. The main message she wishes to echo out to communities neighboring such activities is to step up to the challenge of protecting their eco-systems and campaign for a safer and cleaner environment with zero mercury. Audrey is a Mining and Mineral Processing Engineer by profession and currently pursuing her studies in Natural Resource Management. She is a firm believer of positive and constructive change for communities.She wishes and encourages young people to step up to the challenge of making their communities better and safer for future generations.
