The Pink Bus, by Caroline Fletcher and Victoria Brook

English: The Pink Bus is British art installation and entertainment venue designed by Reading University Fine Art graduates Caroline Fletcher & Victoria Brook. It is decorated inside using discarded 'bric-a-brac', collected over a year from charity shops, skips and front gardens. The interior includes a bar & fireplace, with 26 seats remaining on the top deck to form a venue.

Conceived as a final year Art School project, the bus was launched as a venue at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2009 hosting comedy and musical acts, and has gone on to appear at other events & exhibitions around the country. Initially complemented with a Facebook presence, The Pink Bus, this was added to on 18 June 2011 with the launch of a dedicated website, www.pink-bus.co.uk.

The bus itself (reg. C385 BUV), is an MCW built Metrobus MkI double-decker. As of December 2014 it was parked in a yard at Grazeley near Reading looking unloved and unused, it apparently uses bio-fuel, but is also often towed to venues. It was delivered new to London Buses in November 1985 as one of their M-Class buses, No. M1385. It saw use in London into the privatisation era, passing in 1994 into the fleet of MTL London Northern. Surviving long enough to wear their successor Metroline's blue skirted livery from May 2000, it was finally withdrawn in February 2004, then sold to dealer Ensignbus. After spending 6 months in the ownership of B&J Travel of Chadwell St Mary, in October 2004 it was sold to Top Cat Ltd of Reading.
