Just so that you know, there is a olive wreath and no laurel wreath depicted on this image. The branch element in this image is based on the wikipedia image laurel wreath. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Laurel_wreath.svg The image "laurel wreath" is based on the official flag of the UN, which clearly shows a olive wreath, as stated here: http://www.un.org/en/sections/about-un/un-logo-and-flag/ A laurel wreath were typically given to young masters in a ceremony.
