Insufficient behavior

[edit]

@Tacsipacsi: Whatever is parametrized, this template adds the constant "/sandbox" to the name, whether it is defaulted or specified. But to test with {{Autotranslate}}, a language version "<name>/sandbox/<language>" is needed; there is currently no way to tag a (non-I18n) national version "<name>/<language>" that a sandbox for autotranslate-test exists, it can just be linked to an inutil "<name>/<language>/sandbox".
Solution: when the parameter sandbox contains a value, it will be taken - without suffixing or other alteration. Either it must be specified e.g. "<name>/sandbox/<language>" (or whatosever), or complete with the namespace [[Template:<name>/sandbox/<language>]] or [[Template:<name>/sandbox/<language>|/sandbox]] - the docu will tell how it should be specified. It will be needed only in rare cases, and only with the hand-written national versions. To me it is too difficult to insert that addition, I am not yet used to the automatic translation. -- sarang사랑 08:06, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Sarang: Can you show an actual use case? IMO translated versions should not contain such complex code that needs sandbox, and even if the /i18n page contains complex code, it doesn’t need to be marked for translation. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 10:29, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, it is not /i18n. Often the English version is protected; as an actual case, {{Superseded/en}} has an edit request, and the admin should know from where to copy; so I tried with {{Superseded/en/sandbox}} and {{Superseded/sandbox/en}} and saw that mentioning that sandbox within the {{Superseded/en}} does not work with {{Use sandbox}}. The code is not at all complex, and it meight have been better to ask the admin to just alter a line. Because blind copy of the whole template is easier I preferred that method -- sarang사랑 12:33, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You might prefer that method, but calling all folks to use the sandbox is an overkill. I don’t think it makes any sense. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 13:54, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
