Comparison with template watermark

[edit]

This template serves the same function as template watermark. That is why I made it a reidrect. Qualified objections would be nice. --Cwbm (commons) (talk) 22:06, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

It is similar. The difference is that a caption is... not a watermark. It need not include information about the author, it might just describe the subject. If you're going to merge them I'd update the watermark template to make it clear that it refers to both cases. Dcoetzee (talk) 00:14, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I meant that both templates are used for the same purpose. --Cwbm (commons) (talk) 08:05, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
You have not met the required condition. Anyway, there is no consens to eliminate this template. There are a lot of templates that make something similar! I'll revert this soon. -- πϵρήλιο 18:17, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What are you talking about? I don't understand how the template watermark has to be changed. Please enlighten me.
Is it possible that you deliver any positive argument why two different templates are needed then in reality hundreds of files are tagged with remove watermark where the tagger actually meant caption. And in contrast there are not a lot of template for similar things and it is actually pretty idiotic to have more than one template for the same purpose. --Cwbm (commons) (talk) 08:58, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
