Template:Gadget-desc/doc is not protected. – Adrignola talk 19:31, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not talking about the documentation. I'm talking about this. // WikiPhoenix (Talk) 10:13, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Better:

replace

  1. |documentation]] with |{{Documentation-tag}}]]
  2. |example]] with |{{Example-tag}}]]
  3. |discuss]] with |{{Discuss-tag}}]]

Either you use cascading protection or you have to protect the three templates. Nobody wants vandalism in the settings-UI. -- RE rillke questions? 15:22, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Example

[edit]

From my own experience I know that one is sometimes too lazy to test all the gadgets by activating and saving or to read the documentation. Now we have the withJS and withCSS URL-paramter. Is the Example-parameter of the template intended for using those?

page name where there's an example of the gadget

is ambiguous, so I ask here. -- RE rillke questions? 11:37, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"skin"

[edit]

{{Edit protected}}

To clarify things, please change "only" to "skin only". This will change, for example, (Vector only) to (Vector skin only). Rd232 (talk) 00:50, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

|page broken?

[edit]

{{Editprotected}}

Is the |page parameter broken? It is used eg by MediaWiki:Gadget-OldEdittools, but that gadget shows up on the Gadgets tab, not on the edit tab as I would expect. Rd232 (talk) 22:07, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To answer my own question: yes, it is broken (by MediaWiki 1.18). And for security reasons, it'll stay that way. See Commons:Gadget#Limitations.
page: Show the setting on a different page. Possible values: (personal, rendering, datetime, editing, rc, watchlist, searchoptions, misc, gadgets ) || optional, but helpful to reduce clutter on gadgets page

Bugzilla33220 requests a native MediaWiki replacement for what was previously done in Javascript. Rd232 (talk) 17:35, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In this case, could someone remove the parameter added in this edits? Helder 11:45, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
