The template must support more authors, it does not, so the category is not fixable at the moment. Regulary you have to write author=Name without any wiki syntax, but author=Martin Zeile, Matthäus Merian will only lead to a broken wikilink. --Martin H. (talk) 12:10, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

What about merging with {{Book}}?

It's a bit of a waste to have multiple templates doing the same thing. What do you guys think of merging all the functionalities of this template into {{Book}}? That means we have three major information templates:

1. {{Information}} - general information template
2. {{Painting}} - Information template for paintings
3. {{Book}} - Information template for books

It was done once already here and it should be straight forward since {{Book}} originated as generalization of {{DE Wikisource Book}} without De wikisource categories. --Jarekt (talk) 03:39, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

 Done Created Template:DE Wikisource Book/test and have 2 pages using this test version: Category:Langenstein Martina and File:Wolf Unterricht im Klavierspielen Theil 1.pdf I just noticed that not many files use this template only about 1600. I did similar conversion to templates in Category:Infobox templates: based on Book template --Jarekt (talk) 16:40, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Creator template

Trying to fix the category description on Category:Voß Äschylos, I made {{Creator:Johann Heinrich Voss}}, but it seems that it isn't possible to include this in this template. Maybe it's worth adapting it for that.  Docu  at 08:31, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

I found the above when going through some of the categories in Category:Pages with DEFAULTSORT conflicts. Looks like {{Book}} leads to some DEFAULTSORT conflicts as well.  Docu  at 17:24, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Yes, {{Book}}, {{DE Wikisource Book}} and all the others add {{#if:{{{Title|}}}|{{DEFAULTSORT:{{{Title}}}}}}} to everything that uses it. I am not sure where is it helpful. May be we should disable it. --Jarekt (talk) 00:28, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

In file namespace, it might be needed to make things easier when the main category isn't added through this template, but directly on the file description page. Generally all pages of a book are named consistently so this is probably not really needed.

Not sure why someone would try to define yet even another defaultsort key directly in the file description page. Anyways, sort keys in file namespace seem hard to maintain anyways.  Docu  at 10:17, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
