On this page you can find information about the Picture Competition of Wikimédia Magyarország (Wikimedia Hungary).
Can I participate in the assessment?
Anyone can participate in the assessment if they have registered in a Wikimedia project before 1 February 2009 and have made at least 100 hundred edits in the 6 months preceding 1 March 2009. A user may vote only once even if they have more than one eligible accounts; in case of doubt the jury reserves the right to verify this rule.
How do I assess the pictures?
The evaluation of the competition is done through community voting. The goal of the assessment is to find the best picture in their category. The evaluation should take into consideration various aspects of the picture (technical realisation, composition, mood, ability to convey a message, etc.), as well as, the degree to which the picture is fit to portray the Hungarian people, culture or scenery.
As part of the assessment, each submission can be awarded 1, 2 or 3 point in the form of * {{score|3}} ~~~~
. The points represent a qualitative assessment where 3 point is the maximum and the absence of points is the minimum end of the assessment scale. The submissions can only be supported (there is no need to award points to every submission; more than one submission can be awarded the same points). The voters in categories 1–3 can award 15 points at the most per category, while in categories 4–5 a maximum of 10 points per category can be awarded. Points awarded after the limit has been reached will be ignored. Comments about a certain picture can be made on its discussion page while comments about the assessment are welcome on the talk page of the present page.
When can I vote?

In the first three categories the authors of the first three pictures will receive Wikimedia gifts while the first ten pictures will receive a distinction. In category 4 the first three receive a Wikimedia gift package and the first five a distinction. The winner of category 5 will receive a special prize. The winning submissions will be showcased in an online gallery.
