This tag should be used on existing categories that are likely to be used by others, even though the "real" category is elsewhere. Redirected categories should be empty and not categorised themselves. It should not be used on categories that are misspellings and thus unlikely to be used by other people.

Usage

Use this template instead of using {{Category redirect}} to redirect a taxon category to its synonyme taxon category.

If there is no exact synonymy (different content), prefer {{Invalid taxon category redirect}}

Be careful, On wikicommons, we don't rename categories when a taxon name changes.

So the destination might not be the more accepted name

• targetCategoryName

name of target-category (without the "Category:" prefix)

taxon name preferred by the source(s) (It can be the source or the destination of the redirect).

• note=<note> (optional)

To add a note.
