All images in the Memory of Modern Egypt Digital Archive have a permanent URL showing a thumbnail-sized version of the image. Images from the Press Collection (صحافة) and the Documents Collection (وثائق) have an additional permanent URL that links to their Arabic-language description page. Use this template to specify the URLs of each image.

Copyright
This tag does not indicate the copyright status of the attached work. A normal copyright tag is still required. The Memory of Modern Egypt Digital Archive's FAQ page states that:

"Publication rights are reserved to the authorities contributing to this project, which gave the Bibliotheca Alexandrina the right to display this material only through the [project's] website for public benefit. However, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina does not have the right to authorize the publication of this material. For this reason, you cannot download or publish any of the material available on the website."

Regardless of the above statement, works which have fallen into the public domain in the United States and in Egypt (or in their source country in the case of non-Egyptian works) may still be hosted on Commons, and claims to the contrary constitute copyfraud. The status of each individual work should be determined separately, usually through the death date of its author and/or its publication date. See Commons:Licensing#Egypt for more information.

Files using this template should be named in the following way: File:ModernEgypt, Brief description, Digital filename.jpg
