- Usage
- Use this template to add a reference to a species on the web site IUCN (for International union for conservation of nature and natural resources) by providing the species id on IUCN.
This template will also automatically add a category (see Category:Species by IUCN Red List category subcategories)- If this template is called with incorrect parameters, Category:Pages with incorrect biology template usage will be added to the calling article/category.
- This template is not meant to use in the middle of a sentence. For a link in the middle of a sentence use {{IUCNlink}}.
- Note: This template can be used in conjunction with {{Taxoconflict}}, {{Taxa}}, {{Genera}}, {{Genera2}}, {{Species}}, {{Species2}} and {{Subspecies}} with parameter "source=IUCN" (See here the different values for source)
- Note: if you want to edit this template, first try your modifications on {{IUCN/sandbox}}.You can then test your edits in {{IUCN/testcases}}.
When the new version is ready, you can move it to the main template.

- the id of the species on IUCN web site. Use IUCN search to find this id.
- For example in the url www.iucnredlist.org/details/137 the id is 137.
