Usually, a mere digitization of audio should not create a new copyright, as a mere mechanical process (at least under US law). Compare PD-art. In the United States, moreover, digital remasters of pre-1972 sound recordings do not create a new copyright: see ABS v. CBS. Laws may differ in other jurisdiction. This template may be used to indicate that the digitized has licensed the digitization itself in case this is applicable.
