Manuscript cancel, a postal marking but also postmark?
[edit]Just an idea: include manuscript cancels? I am asking because can a pen cancel be considered a postmark? According Wikipedia definition: A postal marking is any kind of annotation applied to a letter by a postal service. However: A postmark is a postal marking made on a letter, package, postcard or the like indicating the date and time that the item was delivered into the care of the postal service. - Agreed, see your 100 C stamp on the Gallery. See also my definition on top, which avoids the semantic problem.

Linear postmarks vs Straight line cancel
[edit]I think the more correct philatelic definition here is straight line cancel, often abbreviated as 's/l' at auctions.Arno-nl (talk) 08:12, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
