Not better than this?

Don't we have any better image on cats than these ones? What's needed is a whole cat standing, photographed from side, demonstrating the build of a cat, preferrably a perfectly normal cat with a perfectly normal fur markings. We can use images of kittens, odd races, behaviors and such, but portraits of Jimmy Joe Bob's pet cat Kitty is not necessary. Foremost heads of cats is of less use, unless the articles in question is about head features, such as nose, ears or eyes. Rursus (talk) 12:58, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

We do seem to be rather short on cat pictures just like that. I did a quick look through Category:Cats by colour or pattern and its subcategories, and came up with the following:

Of those, the first one (File:Jammlich.jpg) might be best suited to your requirements: it shows a perfectly typical young tabby European shorthair in a natural standing pose, and has decent lighting, focus and resolution. For use an an illustration of cat anatomy, however, it does need a bit of cropping to focus on the cat itself.

I also found quite a few reasonably good pictures of cats sitting or lying down, which isn't too surprising, since those are more natural poses for a stationary cat. A couple of the better ones are:

With a quick scan through the page, I am sure I can get my cat in standing poses or sitting. She is a very calm cat and sits a lot. Also I can get some pics of her in our front yard. She is very close to the outdoors. Mhera (talk) 19:40, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
