The Salt Lake Tabernacle organ is one of the accompanying organs of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and is commonly featured in the Music and the Spoken Word broadcast.
Original organ case
[edit]Original built in 1870, the images of this section display the works of organ builders who have worked on the organ before 1915, before the case was enlarged.

Picture taken during a organ recital. These recitals are held daily in either the Tabernacle or Conference Center.

The angels above each of the Organ's tallest towers are crafted after the Boston Music Hall's Organ's angels in the same location above the tallest towers.

Taken in 2004 before the remodel of the Tabernacle, the balcony of the Tabernacle was built as a solution to acoustical problems.

[edit]The Tabernacle organ is a significant part of the Tabernacle Choir's sound.
Organ console
[edit]Commanding any organ is its console, the Tabernacle organ is commanded by a large 5 manual organ.

Organists at the Tabernacle
[edit]Fourteen organists have been in charge of this famed instrument. Their duties are to accompany the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on its weekly broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word, give organ recitals (which is now daily on Temple Square), and provide organ accompaniment during the semi-annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS or Mormon Church).
