This place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, listed as Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty.

The World Heritage Site "Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty" in South Korea is divided into 18 clusters having a total of 40 royal tombs of the rulers and their consorts from the Joseon Dynasty who ruled Korea from 1392 to 1910.

Donggureung-Cluster

The Donggureung-Cluster is located in Inchang-dong, Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Geonwolleung is the tomb of King Taejo (Joseon’s 1st monarch, 1408)

Hyeolleung is the tomb of King Munjong (Joseon’s 5th monarch, 1422) and Queen Hyeondeok (Munjong’s consort, 1420).

Mongneung is the tomb of King Seonjo (Joseon’s 14th monarch, 1608), Queen Uiin (Seonjo’s 1st consort, 1600), and Queen Inmok (Seonjo’s 2nd consort, 1632).

Hwireung is the tomb of Queen Jangnyeol (Injo’s 2nd consort, 1688).

Sungneung is the tomb of King Hyeonjong (Joseon’s 18th monarch, 1674) and Queen Myeongseong (Hyeonjong’s consort, 1684).

Hyereung is the tomb of Queen Danui (Gyeongjong’s 1st consort, 1718).

Wolleung is the tomb of King Yeongjo (Joseon’s 21st monarch, 1776) and Queen Jeongsun (Yeongjo’s 2nd consort, 1805).

Gyeongneung is the tomb of King Heonjong (Joseon’s 24th monarch, 1849), Queen Hyohyeon (Heonjong’s 1st consort, 1843), and Queen Hyojeong (Heonjong’s 2nd consort, 1904).

Sureung is the tomb of King Munjo (Heonjong’s father and posthumously given the title of king, 1855) and Queen Sinjeong (Munjo’s consort).

Hongyureung-Cluster

The Hongyureung-Cluster is located in Geumgok-dong, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Hongneung is the tomb of Emperor Gojong (Joseon’s 26th monarch, 1919) and Empress Myeongseong (Gojong’s consort).

Yureung is the tomb of Emperor Sunjong (Joseon’s 27th monarch, 1926), Empress Sunmyeong (Sunjong’s 1st consort, 1926), and Empress Sunjeong (Sunjong’s 2nd consort, 1966).

Sareung-Cluster

The Sareung-Cluster is located in Sareung-ri, Jingeon-myeon, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Sareung is the tomb of Queen Jeongsun (Danjong’s consort, 1521)

Gwangneung-Cluster

The Gwangneung-Cluster is located in Bupyeong-ri, Jinjeop-eup, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggido.

Gwangneung is the tomb of King Sejo (Joseon’s 7th monarch,1468) and Queen Jeonghui (Sejo’s consort, 1483).

Yeongneung-Cluster

The Yeongneung-Cluster is located in Wangdae-ri, Neungseo-myeon, Yeoju-gun, Gyeonggi-do.

Yeongneung is the tomb of King Sejong (Joseon’s 4th monarch, 1469) and Queen Soheon (Sejong’s consort).

Yeongneung is the tomb of King Hyojong (Joseon’s 17th monarch, 1673) and Queen Inseon (Hyojong’s consort).

Jangneung-Cluster, Yeongwol-gun

A first Jangneung-Cluster is located in Yeongheung, Yeongwol-eup, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do.

Jangneung is the tomb of King Danjong (Joseon’s 6th monarch, 1698).

Seolleung-Cluster

The Seolleung-Cluster is located in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Seolleung is the tomb of King Seongjong (Joseon’s 9th monarch, 1495) and Queen Jeonghyeon (Seongjong’s 2nd consort, 1530).

Jeongneung is the tomb of King Jungjong (Joseon’s 11th monarch, 1562).

Heolleung-Cluster

The Heolleung-Cluster is located in Naegok-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul.

Heolleung is the tomb of King Taejong (Joseon’s 3rd monarch, 1422) and Queen Wongyeong (Taejong’s consort, 1420).

Illeung is the tomb of King Sunjo (Joseon’s 23rd monarch, 1856) and Queen Sunwon (Sunjo’s consort, 1857).

Taereung-Cluster

The Taereung-Cluster is located in Gongneung-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul.

Taereung is the tomb of Queen Munjeong (Jungjong’s 3rd consort, 1565)

Gangneung is the tomb of King Myeongjong (Joseon’s 13th monarch, 1575) and Queen Insun (Myeongjong’s consort).

Jeongneung-Cluster

The Jeongneung-Cluster is located in Jeongneung-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.

Jeongneung is the tomb of Queen Sindeok (Taejo’s 2nd consort, 1409).

Uireung-Cluster

The Uireung-Cluster is located in Seokgwan-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.

Uireung is the tomb of King Gyeongjong (Joseon’s 20th monarch, 1724) and Queen Seonui (Gyeongjong’s 2nd consort, 1730).

Seooreung-Cluster

The Seooreung-Cluster is located in Yongdu-dong, Deokyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Changneung is the tomb of King Yejong (Joseon’s 8th monarch, 1470) and Queen Ansun (Yejong’s 2nd consort, 1499).

Myeongneung is the tomb of King Sukjong (Joseon’s 19th monarch, 1720), Queen Inhyeon (Sukjong’s 2nd consort, 1701), and Queen Inwon (Sukjong’s 3rd consort, 1757).

Ingneung is the tomb of Queen Ingyeong (Sukjong’s 1st consort, 1680).

Hongneung is the tomb of Queen Jeongseong (Yeongjo’s 1st consort 1757).

Gyeongneung is the tomb of King Deokjong (Seongjong’s father and posthumously given the title of king, 1457) and Queen Sohye (Deokjong’s consort, 1504).

Seosamreung-Cluster

The Seosamreung-Cluster is located in Wondang-dong, Deokyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Huireung is the tomb of Queen Janggyeong (Jungjong’s 2nd consort, 1537).

Hyoreung is the tomb of King Injong (Joseon’s 12th monarch, 1545) and Queen Inseong (Injong’s consort, 1578).

Yereung is the tomb of King Cheoljong (Joseon’s 25th monarch, 1864) and Queen Cheorin (Cheoljong’s consort, 1878).

Olleung-Cluster

The Olleung-Cluster is located in Iryeong-ri, Jangheung-myeon, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Olleung is the tomb of Queen Dangyeong (Jungjong’s 1st consort, 1557).

Pajusamreung-Cluster

The Pajusamreung-Cluster is located in Bongilcheon-ri, Jori-myeon, Paju-si. Gyeonggi-do.

Gongneung is the tomb of Queen Jangsun (Yejong’s 1st consort, 1461).

Sulleung is the tomb of Queen Gonghye (Seongjong’s 1st consort, 1474).

Yeongneung is the tomb of King Jinjong (Jeongjo’s uncle and posthumously given the title of king, 1728) and Queen Hyosun (Jinjong’s consort, 1751).

Jangneung-Cluster, Paju

Another Jangneung-Cluster is located in Galhyeon-ri, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Jangneung (37°46′25″N 126°42′29″E / position / 37.773607; 126.708075 (Jangneung (Injo))) is a joint mound for of King Injo (Joseon’s 16th monarch, 1731) and Queen Inyeol (Injo’s 1st consort).

Jangneung-Cluster, Gimpo

Still another Jangneung-Cluster is located in Pungmu-dong, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Jangneung (37°36′47″N 126°42′40″E / position / 37.613026; 126.711145 (Jangneung (Wonjong))) is a twin-mound for King Wonjong (Injo’s father and posthumously given the title of king, 1619) and Queen Inheon (Wonjong’s consort, 1626).

The Yunggeolleung-Cluster is located in Annyeong-dong, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Yungneung (37°12′42″N 126°59′38″E / position / 37.211658; 126.993891 (Yungneung)) is a joint mound for King Jangjo (Jeongjo’s father and posthumously given the title of king, 1789) and Queen Hyeongyeong (Jangjo’s consort, 1816).

Geolleung (37°12′50″N 126°59′16″E / position / 37.213863; 126.987914 (Geolleung)) is a joint mound for King Jeongjo (Joseon’s 22nd monarch, 1800) and Queen Hyoui (Jeongjo’s consort, 1821).
