Deutsch: Piedmontgletscher, Eisloben, Vorlandgletscher sind durch keine topographischen Hindernisse eingeengten Gletscherzungen im Vorland von Gebirgen. Die meisten Piedmontgletscher entstammen einem Eisstromnetz, wie es eiszeitlich in den Alpen entwickelt war, seltener auch aus einem großen Plateaugletscher (einige Loben des Vatnajökull in Island).
English: Piedmont glaciers are either valley glaciers which have spilled out onto relatively flat plains, where they spread out into bulb-like lobes. But they can also consist of big glacier lobes without a topographical limitation. This type of glaciers is only to be found in polar and subpolar regions.
