Images relating to the hours of operation of the New Routemaster on the London bus routes it's now used on. They operate in one of three ways:

24 hour routes

[edit]

Routes 10, 12, 24, 148, 390 and 453 are 24 hour operations - New Routemasters are in service 24 hours a day, using the same route number throughout.

Combined day & Night routes

[edit]

Routes 8 / N8, 38 / N38, 55 / N55 and 73 / N73 also see New Routemasters in use 24 hours a day, by virtue of being used on the day time route number (which usually runs from around 6am to around midnight), as well as the equivalent N-prefixed night route. The distinction exists because the day route is usually substantially shorter than the night route.

Day routes with non-Routemaster N-prefix buses

[edit]

Routes 9, 11, 15 and 137 only see New Routemaster operation during the day (around 6am to around midnight) portion of the route, with other types being used on the N-prefix version of the route (not necessarily by the same operator/garage).

Non-Routemaster N-prefix types

[edit]

The current non-New Routemaster types working on N-prefix routes alongside New Routemaster converted day routes are as follows:

  • Route N9 is run by United from Aldwych to Heathrow using SP class buses out of Hounslow (AV) garage
  • Route N11 is run by General from Liverpool Street to Ealing Broadway using WVL class buses out of Stockwell (SW) garage
  • Route N15 is run by East London from Trafalgar Square to Romford using E class buses out of Barking (BK) garage and EH class buses out of Bow (BW) garage
  • Route N137 is run by Arriva (South) from Oxford Circus to Crystal Palace using T class buses out of Norwood (N) garage
