Coloured background
[edit]I understand why the background colour has been changed, but I personally think it looks horrible. Is there an alternate way to make non-transparent backgrounds easier to see than this? Thryduulf 14:54, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Justify
[edit]Please, add to the CSS-files "Justify" for all texts.
- Why? The vast majority of Commons is left-justified, and the Hebrew language text is right-justified. — Jeff G. 17:00, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Background skin change.
[edit]I hope this will take. I was personally getting tired of the same mediawiki book background and thought we could use something a bit different and unique for Commons... (Can probably use some other tweaking too, but one thing at a time!) I hope people like it. If not, make it better (don't change it back!) Bastique demandez 23:05, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- I like it. Oh, and I noticed there were several places where it had background=#fff - shouldn't this be #ffffff ? -mattbuck (Talk) 13:08, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I would like to get rid of it. How? --AFBorchert (talk) 18:33, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Change your monobook.js - see COM:VP. -mattbuck (Talk) 18:56, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
hide heading for Main Page (Monobook skin only)
[edit]{{Editprotected}} Please add in section "hide heading for Main Page (Monobook skin only)" following code (for Russian version of Main Page):
BODY.page-Заглавная_страница H1.firstHeading { display: none;
--Kaganer (talk) 23:36, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
- Done for the moment, though we should probably move this code to an own .css file (MediaWiki:Main Pages.css?) as we got a lot of Main Pages and this would be at least also have to be done for the Vector skin (don't know about the other skins). --The Evil IP address (talk) 01:40, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks and Support of this idea ;) --Kaganer (talk) 01:16, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Oi!
[edit]Put the logo back! We had one person griping that they hated it, and it made Commons look nicely different from en.wp. -mattbuck (Talk) 18:24, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- What!? Are you sure? Everyone that has commented on it said they didn't like it (or so I thought...). It was a horrible ugly background. Rocket000 (talk) 18:26, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- What about using a solid color background like vector? I admit the book image doesn't really fit Commons. Rocket000 (talk) 18:29, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- If you really like it, you can just easily put it into your /monobook.css. --The Evil IP address (talk) 19:37, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
