Question What should be the text to show on the license label (i.e. something similar to "Original work of the US Federal Government")? --The Evil IP address (talk) 14:30, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
- The template is meant to be used for images from the National Weather Service, because of "Courtesy of ..." images. The template says "NWS-created images are automatically public domain since the NWS is a part of the US government. However, the The NWS sites also host non-NWS images which have been submitted by individuals: these are generally shown as "Courtesy of ...". Such images have explicitly been released to the public domain by the copyright owner as part of the upload process", so I'm thinking that "Images hosted by the National Weather Service" or something along those lines would be the best option. Done. I'm not an expert in that area, but it might be considerable to rename the template to "PD-USGov-NWS" for consistency with the other US Gov templates. --The Evil IP address (talk) 06:48, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
