Month bug

See [1], the month in the {{Delete}} template must not be localized, otherwise the images are categorized in Category:Deletion requests Январь 2018 instead of Category:Deletion requests January 2018. --Thibaut120094 (talk) 18:43, 13 January 2018 (UTC)

✓ Done @Thibaut120094: Ou* this was wgMonthNames (my fault), as this works not as expected. It takes the page language not project language!? But anyhow, this should rarely the case, because the page content language changes only on subpages and Special pages. -- User: Perhelion 21:26, 13 January 2018 (UTC)

I got the preceding while setting up a replacement task. :(   — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 17:06, 10 March 2018 (UTC)

@Jeff G.: How do you reproduce this? --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 00:45, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
Zhuyifei1999 I assume it was the same like for me: I tried the same like Jeff – to help a user (cf. Special:Diff/291631181/291634776). So I went on the user page, started VFC, disabled image preview (but I do not know, whether this is important, but loading of the wikitext was necessary here) and got 100 images loaded (my setting, maximum for non-admins, you know). I loaded 100 more (200 in sum), everything fine, but as I wanted to load another 100, I got this error message on the left side. I stopped here. — Speravir – 02:40, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
@Zhuyifei1999, Speravir, and Perhelion: Precisely, this occurs during retrieval of details for files 201-300 of that user using the default sort order.   — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 05:51, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
This seems due the new fix with resolving redirects (as above), which should in this way working. Also theoretically the redirects could lead now to another users upload, so I looking for that. PS: Thanks for the concrete example. -- User: Perhelion 09:30, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
✓ Done @Jeff G., Speravir, and Zhuyifei1999: It was a small misunderstanding how the redirects result works (it happens if the result had more than one redirect). Sorry about the circumstances. -- User: Perhelion 11:14, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
Yes, loading works again. Section resolved, Jeff, right? — Speravir – 17:08, 11 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi, if you use VFC with a search (e. g. insource:/\=\= *\{\{int:license-header\}\} *==..\[\[[Cc]ategory/ insource:/|[Pp]ermission *= *\{\{/) the backlink after the label "Files found with search" leads to an error since the URL is not properly encoded. --Arnd (talk) 15:30, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

Page creation bug for non-traditional VFC mass deletion requests

I use the perform batch tasks on searches a lot. It makes it easier to group images out of larger categories when doing license review. When I try to actually do the DR though it creates the page a tad wonky. See Commons:Deletion requests/undefinedinsource:"president.ir" and incategory:"Photos from tasnimnews.com" for an example (since moved to the correctly titled subpage). The script should probably take whatever is listed in the "Insert the heading for the mass deletion request, please" box and use that for the subpage title. If one of the developers could look into that I would appreciate it. --Majora (talk) 06:52, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

I don't fully understand how that part of the script works, but this diff may have fixed it. Can someone test? --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 16:28, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
Partially fixed I think: Commons:Deletion requests/undefinedincategory:"greg howe" - Alexis Jazz 17:53, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

@Alexis Jazz: This one has a good enough section header, but I don't care for the pagename.   — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 21:34, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
I really don't understand how the page name is generated without investing a lot of time on it *facepalm* --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 21:50, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
@Perhelion: Would you please have a look?   — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 22:26, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

This is obviously not fixed and now it is trying to create blacklisted links and screwing up DR listings completely. @Zhuyifei1999 and Perhelion: , anyone? Can someone please take a look at this? --Majora (talk) 20:30, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

I'd have to find some things to DR. Unless you want me to just DR some of my uploads and delete the pages afterwards? --Majora (talk) 02:13, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
Up to you. If you need me to delete the test DR You filed feel free to ping me. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 02:17, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
Hooray! @Zhuyifei1999: that appears to have fixed it. See Commons:Deletion requests/Files found with insource:"user=Majora". Could you delete that DR page by the way? I reverted myself on all the other relevant pages. Thank you for fixing it! --Majora (talk) 02:57, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

Help needed

Unfortunately I am not skilled with RegExpr, so I cannot tell VFC what I want: it should change in all selected files their complete content, whatever it is, against the text I will give (e.g. a delete request). Sure an expression exists for that? Sarangbot (talk) 16:21, 27 May 2018 (UTC)

More categories

Would it be possible to load more categories at the same time. Wikimedia Czech Republic runs, the project called Mediagrant. Here we support photographers to make picstures of the country. Wery often we have to fix some errors in their pictures, e.g. to set the proper project template. In such case we have links to the categories, but now, we have to do it category by category. So thats why my question, weather it would be possible to select multiple categories. Or is there another approach, how to do this? Thanks!--Juandev (talk) 13:03, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

@Juandev: Can you be more specific about what files you want to select and what you want to do to them, with an example or two?   — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 14:31, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
Often you could use VFC based searches using insource, incategory, deepcat etc. to find the files that you want to edit. But as Jeff said, we need a more concrete example for what you wanna do. --Arnd (talk) 14:44, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
