English: The Federation of Malaya (1948-1963) was a union of 11 states (nine Malay states namely Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, w:Negeri Sembilan:Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Selangor, Terengganu and two of the British Straits Settlements, Penang and Malacca) located in Southeast Asia. All member states are since 1963 a part of Malaysia (also a federation).

Agreement Relating to Malaysia between UK, Malaya, N. Borneo, Sarawak and Singapore (with annexes, including the Constitutions of the States of Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore, the Malaysia Immigration Bill and the Agreement between the Governments of the Federation of Malaya and Singapore on common market and financial arrangements), signed at London on 9 July 1963; Agreement amending the above-mentioned Agreement, signed at Singapore on 28 August 1963.
