Johann Michael Hoppenhaupt named der Ältere (the elder) (1709– after 1755; to distinguish him from his brother Johann Christian Hoppenhaupt the younger, 1719– between 1778 and 1786). He was a German sculpture and interior designer of the „Frederician Rococo“ and the son of the sculpture and architect of the same name Johann Michael Hoppenhaupt (1685–1751) from Merseburg.
