Large google drive files

[edit]

I tried using the Google drive trick mentioned in the footnotes to get the raw file, but Google was returning 404s for me. Maybe it was because the file was over the "virus scanner" size limit? I ended up finding a perl script which followed Google's maze of redirects to let me download the file. Legoktm (talk) 20:05, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How big was the file and how did you copy the ID? (I tried it once with a ~1GB file and it worked) --McZusatz (talk) 21:24, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How are reports going to be handled in Phabricator? --Vera (talk) 22:35, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

General upload situation for large files on Commons

[edit]

Dereckson (talk · contribs) pointed out that the 4 GiB limit listed on this page might be misleading due to other processes interfering before finishing the upload so I added a footnote, however wondering if it's all accurate, and whether there should be a tracking task or if phab:T118887 is sufficient. @Matanya: Do you know by any chance? :) --AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 15:43, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, A tracking task would be a good idea. The current state is you can upload a 4GB file, but it often times out. I think brion's idea on the ticket mentioned above is the correct path, but that would require more development. 16:38, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
