Flash under the camera lens:
A patent has recently been filed[1] archive copy at the Wayback Machine concerning a flash whose originality resides in that it is implanted under the camera lens.
The ambient light, either exterior or interior, coming (almost) always from the top and the flashs also illuminating from above, the inventor has noticed that there is always a small area not illuminated by the flash under the prominent areas of the subject (Nose, arches, chin ...).
In short, the fault lies in the fact that the ambient and flash lights come from the top while the lens takes the picture from the front of subject.
The advantage of this positioning of the flash is that it completely suppresses, or at least very strongly, the shadows of the ambient lighting, thus leaving no area without lighting.
