On colours

I'd just like to point out that the colours were chosen specifically because they make up the rainbow (flag). :) -- SLB (no) 22:12, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Note: pls see #Color scheme change (January 2009) section below to comment on January 2009 colorblind-accessibilty color changes. Outsider80 (talk) 20:47, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Norway

The map needs to be updated now that same-sex marriage was legalised in Norway. I found this source in English: [1] Then again, it seems the map was created by a Norwegian:) 131.111.129.126 18:52, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Done. :D -- SLB (no) 21:16, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
the law won't be valid till the end of this year... --ecelan (talk) 17:08, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
the law starts on January 1, 2009 in Norway. 212.95.118.38 20:55, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Romania should be added as banning same-sex marriage

see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-sex_marriage_in_Romania#Same-sex_marriage_ban Bogdan (talk) 20:32, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

no mayority in parliament and then new elections in Romania. So that the ban is not a law now. 212.95.118.38 20:41, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Revert

Why was the map reverted? 87.121.52.77 09:51, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Sweden

In May 2009 same sex marriage starts in Sweden. 212.95.118.38 20:56, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Italy

After the right party has taken power, same sex partnership is no longer under discussion. Please remove yellow from Italy and put it in orange 213.26.52.195 15:33, 7 January 2009

I agree, please refer to en:LGBT rights in Italy. Although there was in the past, under different governments, currently there is no political debate on the matter. XanaX (talk) 03:51, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

AUSTRIA

Resolvedfixed per comment at world homosexuality laws map, confirmed with en:LGBT rights in Austria. Outsider80, 06:32, 25 January 2009

There are NO same sex UNIONS existing in Austria. No recognition of whatever same sex Unions of any kind from other countries. No possibility to live in Austria for binational gay couples therefore either (for they would be considered as strangers in front of Austrian Law) I believe the green colour on this map is NOT accurate at all for Austria. 85.194.164.187 21:54, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Color scheme change (January 2009)

This map was changed along with File:World homosexuality laws.svg to a more red-green colorblind (most common type of colorblindness) accessible version (The world homosexuality laws actually originally used an acessible version, but this was changed a year or 2 ago). For example of how the pride colors look to colorblind persons, please see en:Color blindness#Classification of color deficiencies on English Wikipedia, which uses variations of a rainbow flag graphic to simulate colorblindness. More information (and design tips) on colorblindness accessibility can be found in the header of en:Category:Articles with images not understandable by color blind users (also on English Wikipedia).
