Script

[edit]

I don't have time to add subtitles, but here's the script:

Popups will preview a link's target, and give access to other useful info.
On ARTICLE links, it shows the first few sentences and image, and some metadata.
There are links to the historypage, talkpage, and more.
On USER LINKS, it shows usergroups, editcount, and joindate, as well as contributions and more.
On WATCHLISTS and RECENT CHANGES, you can easily see diffs, and the recent history.

It's installed on most wikis in the Preferences-Gadgets section, and is one of the most popular tools with over 50,000 users.

Making this 40 second video took about 2.5 hours: half that time was getting the script right, and the browser-tabs setup properly; and half was making about 50 recording run-throughs before I had an error/stutter-free version. I hadn't made one in a while though, and familiarity with making them would've reduced the time needed.
