Mirror or jug? / Specchio o oinochoe?

[edit]

@Sailko: Is this really a mirror handle? Are you sure? Aren't such handles straight, typically? – This youth, on the other hand, is so bent back that I'd rather think of an oinochoe handle. The palmetto on its lower end would be the attachment point to the body of the jug, then.

Accordingly, I'd rather place this image in Category:Etruscan metalware in the Museo archeologico nazionale (Florence) and in Category:Etruscan bronze jugs (which oddly has lots of images of vessels other than jugs). – Would you agree?

È veramente un manico di specchio? Sei sicuro? – Mi sembra piuttosto un manico tipicamente ricurvo di oinochoe come quello in Villa Giulia.

Martinus KE the captation in the museum of Florence is really poor (just says the theme of the display case), so I agree with your idea. Feel free to fix categories, captation and name. Thank you --Sailko (talk) 08:45, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot for your reply, for your agreement and for taking action! That basically left me just to add a few lines of description text. – ✓ Done -- Martinus KE (talk) 10:43, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
