Cropped detail image

[edit]

@GOUPILLEAU J-Y: Thanks! I guess this makes sense.

While I found the brightness OK for the full-size image, I wonder if brightness and/or gamma might better be adjusted (increased) for the cropped detail image. – What do you think?

As for Bernstamm's artist signature, which you cropped in the same way from one of my photos, I appreciate the idea and the effort. (I saw that you made use of the resulting image in Wikidata and the Russian Wikipedia ...) But to me, the light reflexes which were OK in the full-size image look nearly grotesque in the cropped detail. Obviously, that's an issue of the original image, and not your fault. – Do you think it would make sense to try again? (And maybe remove some dust first ...) I still have the opportunity to take more photos. Getting the lighting right is really tricky though, with macro images of this kind.

PS: I read French reasonably well, so please feel free to reply in your language if you prefer. As to writing, however, I must admit that I'm more comfortable with English. -- Martinus KE (talk) 05:44, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
